A nice day at Stal van de Rijt
Recently we as Ruyters for riders were present at the stables of our ambassador Teddy van de Rijt to help with a trip for the children of the AllstarZ foundation. Together with other entrepreneurs and various riders and volunteers, we were allowed to contribute to let these special children experience a very beautiful day. For example, the candy bags for all children were sponsored by Sweet Suprise from Nuenen and Digital Agency Jaxx from Eindhoven provided all the visual material to capture a beautiful memory for all children. ERBEE Kitchens and Ruyters voor Ruiters also contributed in resources and people and Theo Smulders of the driving club from Nuenen drove around all afternoon with his horse and carriage so that all the children could take a ride. Eline and Marieke and their children brought their ponies so that they could be cuddled all afternoon by all participants, Niels taught them all how to brush and care for a pony, Annemiek was there for coffee and Yvette made the most beautiful to make horseshoes for everyone.
What is AllstarZ? And how did this day come about?
Stable owner and rider Teddy van de Rijt (25) trains several times a week together with Mark (35), owner of the AllstarZ Foundation and Tikkie Anders, at the Revolution PT gym on the Berg in Nuenen. Several times a week Mark and his team accompanies physically, mentally and multiple complex handicapped children, young people and adults during sports, under the guidance of the paramedical sports instructors of Revolution PT. Teddy saw this and enterprising as she is, she also wanted to mean something for this special target group.
Showjumping
At 1 pm all the volunteers were there to listen to Teddy and Mark's instructions. Everything had to be done safely, of course, before the children arrived, who were literally bouncing in their wheelchairs. With a smile from ear to ear they entered the site, where they did not have to wait long for a spectacular opening. Teddy quickly climbed on her horse and took all the children, who were accompanied 1 on 1 by volunteers from the AllstarZ Foundation, to the riding arena. Here she showed what show jumping is. Very gracefully, but with daring and speed, Teddy and her horse Gino jumped several meters high over the various obstacles. This is accompanied by loud applause and admiring sounds of ooooh and waaaauuuuwwww from the children and their supervisors. Activities
But it didn't stop there. Teddy and her team had organized a carousel of activities for these children. They could decorate horseshoes, play on a bouncy castle, ride a large round with a horse and carriage and brush, wash, but also cuddle the horses. It was heartwarming to see how the horses and these special children reacted to each other. Teddy: "Even the most ignorant horses open up to these children in peace and let them come close, which is very special to see". The other way around, the severely restricted children completely relaxed, the muscle tension disappeared due to the touch and proximity of horses and a big smile appeared on the faces.
Thinking in possibilities
This smile did not only appear on the faces of children, but also on the faces of the more than 50 volunteers and of the various local entrepreneurs. They all emphasized how valuable it is to be able to make a contribution for these children.
